Something old, something new, something borrowed and finally...Something Blue!!

It's taken us 8 years..8 whole long awaited years to finally buy a blue balloon..and to use all the new blue clothes we have been buying and putting away in the wardrobe for several years..

On 30th July 2016 we welcomed our gorgeous Son Finley Alexander Watton into the world at 1am after ........ long awaited slow hours in labour weighing a healthy 7lb 8oz.

Finley Alexander Watton just 10 minutes old

Nothing can ever compare the unconditional love you have for your baby that you have never seen nor or have ever properly met until they actually arrive in this world. It really is the best feeling in the world and to be lucky to experience this means everything.

Having given birth to our 3 girls and knowing the whole birthing scenario it can never prepare you for the emotions you have after giving birth to a baby boy especially waiting for what seemed like eternity to have our own. It’s been such a long birth and always with the worry of whether they are going to be healthy.

Daddy is head over heels in love and is super excited to have reinforcements other than being surrounded by his girls… so much so that the first thing he said when Finley arrived is that.. “He’s got man bits.!!”

Will there be baby number 5.. You’ll have to wait and see..

 Until next time..

It's almost time sweet little one..

After what seems like eternity we finally have a date for induction on Friday 5th August for our little man to make his appearance into the world..That's if he doesn't decide to come sooner!

It really has felt like forever. All his clothing and Moses Basket were prepared months ago in sheer lust of excitement so barely anything last minute really needs doing.

On another note the Pram is here. We chose to go with Phil and Teds Dot this time round purely because of the added benefits of the extra seat option so our little girl can also fit in. The reviews spoke highly of it and fingers crossed it will do a good job.

Wish us luck..

Overdue..Again..!!

I knew it.. I just knew that after waiting 9 whole long awaited months I would be waiting a little longer!! It seems like forever waiting to meet our little man.. I'm still munching away on the ice cubes which I manically crave! I'm still doing the beloved 'penguin waddle' everywhere. We just cannot wait to see you and cuddle you. Come out soon little one..

Being a full time Mummy..

Being a full time Mum of three can sometimes be a busy task. Small jobs can become forgotten about making everything back up. I like to keep organised and in a routine that keeps daily tasks simple and easy to maintain.

Here are a few suggestions and ways I keep on top of chores and tasks:

Meal Plan

Every Saturday I will go through all cupboards and the fridge/freezer and spend 20 minutes writing a shopping list to combine with items of food we still have in order to make up meals.

I then write up a quick meal plan for the week and pop it on the fridge. That way in a rush after the afternoon school run I can look at the meal plan and cook up what's selected for that particular day. It's also a good way of saving a bit of money not overbuying too much food and less wasting of food you forget about.

Laundry

I aim to do 1-2 loads of washing per day. That way for me I can also keep on top of the ironing pile.

School

I always put out the girls uniform on their bedroom doors during the day as the mornings can become very busy. If they are having packed lunch I put lunch boxes out ready to fill in the morning, although very rarely this happens due to both girls having school meals. It's  only now and again when they dislike whats on the menu.

Housework

Each morning I get up at 5am, start by having a glass of water and breakfast. I then shower and feed our youngest and wash/dress her. I settle her down then go and put all the school book bags/coats/shoes/PE kits by the door. I normally have 1 hour in between the older girls waking up. They usually get up around 7am, get dressed and have breakfast, so in that hour I will either get the laundry on the line or in the wash depending on whether i washed a load the night before. I will then do a quick surface clean up i.e. any cups or anything left out from the night before and wipe them down.

Then it's school run and back home again followed by:

- Make all Beds.

-Tidy away any toys.

-Dust if needed.

-Hoover all floors.

-Mop Hallway and Kitchen floors.

-Pack away any washing up, clean and wipe counters.

That little lot may seem a lot but doesn't once you get going and keeping that way just a little each day makes it so much easier for me.

Then the rest of the day is a case of feeding our youngest baby and doing whatever we feel like doing. Friday I like to make a habit of going to the under 1's group nearby to meet new Mums and Babies.

Feel free to share your ideas in the comments section below..

Thats all for now..

Out and About..

Happy New Year everyone.. And what a good one it has been so far! Despite the sudden daily downpours every now and then we managed to go on a family walk to Moors Valley Country Park over the weekend. It is a lovely place and one we often go to on a regular basis. If you're into walking whether it be a little or a lot if highly recommend to try it out.

The outdoor wooden play equipment is so well designed for children and it keeps the girls busy for hours and burns off all the excess energy.

We even managed to enjoy lunch in the cafe too.. If you're a little older and love a bit of climbing then Go Ape is a challenge for you!

Until next time..

Christmas Lantern Parade and Light Switch on.

This evening was the Town's Christmas late night shopping, light switch on and lantern parade. All the children from school were given the following resources below..

Instructions were given on how to assemble and all in all we managed to make some fabulous lanterns..

Switching on the Christmas lights this year was Top Gear presenter James May. He pulled up alongside the children so we could all have some photos taken.

Such a fantastic evening and a great way to get you on the Christmas spirit aswel as sneaking in a bit of late night shopping.

Until next time..

Elf on the Shelf Day 4

So this morning the girls raced around the house crazily looking for the missing Elves who had disappeared again. After looking everywhere but the Kitchen they went in to breakfast to find these two happily say toasting marshmallows..

So pleased the Elves took 'Elf and safety' to great measures and used a battery operated tea light so they didn't burn those little hands..😂
